MARCH FANTASY FARM ALPACAS NEWSLETTER Hello to all our Fantasy Farm Alpaca owners. Many new friends Across Texas have become Alpaca owners in January and February. Alpacas are quickly becoming one of the fastest growing livestock investments across America. Many of our new customers are purchasing Alpacas as great pets, but many more customers are purchasing Alpacas as a business opportunity. Two types of such business endeavors are Fleece Herds and Breeding Operations. Either can be great investment opportunities. TEXAS PROPERTY TAX SAVINGS OPPORTUNITIES In Texas, an extremely important issue each year is the “Livestock Exemption” opportunity. Each Texas landowner pays significant property tax. If their land qualifies as “Ag Exempt”, the annual savings on property tax can be significant. This past week a family purchased 16 Alpacas for their 35 acre mixed use property. By utilizing the “Ag Exemption” opportunities that Alpacas offer, they lowered their property taxes from approximately $36,000 per year down to approximately $3,500.00 per year! If your farm or land is not “Ag Exempt”, check today with your County to determine exactly how many Alpacas will be necessary to secure such an exemption. This can account to huge tax savings, whether you have an all male fleece herd or a breeding herd.
At Fantasy Farm Alpacas we have been extremely busy attending fairs and shows. In February, we attended a large Alpaca show in Fort Worth at the Will Roger’s Complex, winning several ribbons for our excellent breeding Alpacas.
