January 10, 2008

 Dear Buyer,

Happy New Year!  It is our wish at Fantasy Farm Alpacas that you and your family had a blessed Christmas as well as a wonderful beginning to this New Year.

We at Fantasy Farm Alpacas are excited as this New Year begins.  New baby alpacas fill our remodeled nursery with more expecting mothers awaiting their new cria’s birth.  Fantasy Farm Alpacas is constantly improving our beautiful farm and alpaca facilities.  Over the holidays, we completed our state of the art breeding facility and nursery.  Both are designed for cleanliness and animal comfort.  This winter we are busy finishing new fencing and have opened up additional pastures for our growing herd.  Fantasy Farm Alpacas is not only the oldest Alpaca Breeding Farm in Texas but also the largest, averaging between 200-250 registered animals at any given time.

As 2008 begins, so does our very busy show schedule.  This week we travel to Las Vegas for one of the largest Alpacas sales events in the nation, the America’s Choice 2008 Production Sale.  Throughout the year we will be exhibiting and/or selling at an event or fair almost every week.  Our goal at Fantasy Farm Alpacas is to always be improving our herd by acquiring some of the finest alpaca genetics in the world.

As many of you are new to the alpaca world, I do want to remind you of the following thoughts:

1.     Should you need assistance with teeth or toenail trimming, feel free to call our herd manager, Frank Garcia at 210-823-2319.  He does this type of work as a side business and is extremely knowledgeable.

2.     Should you need the “special blend” alpaca feed which Fantasy Farm Alpacas has custom blended for our animals, you may purchase 50 lb bags for $12.00 each (price subject to change) at Fantasy Farm Alpacas.

3.     For additional halters, leads, cria blankets and vaccinations, Fantasy Farm Alpacas also sells these items.  Feel free to call Cheryl at 830-336-4220.

4.     Many of you are planning to grow your alpaca business by expanding your herd by acquiring females for breeding.  Fantasy Farm Alpacas has a number of excellent females that are confirmed bred.  In addition, Fantasy Farm Alpacas will finance females for a 3 year term with 25% down so as to assist our customers.

5.     Fantasy Farm Alpacas plans to shear on April 8th and 9th.  If you wish to bring your animals for shearing, please reserve a spot before March 15th.  We will also need volunteers to help with the process, so let us know if you would like to be a part of this very exciting process.  For reservations, call Cheryl Etheredge at the Fantasy Farm Alpacas’ office at 830-336-4220.  Cost is $25.00 per animal.

6.     Fantasy Farm Alpacas encourages you to stay current on your animals worming and vaccinations.  Be sure to read the information on the FAQ sheet that was sent to you at the time of your purchase.

7.     With tax time soon upon us, remember the potential tax benefits of raising alpacas.  Both State and Federal tax deductions are possible.  Remember to consult with your tax advisor on all such agricultural and business deductions.

As always, the entire staff at Fantasy Farm Alpacas is always available to you.  My cell number is 210-347-4770.  Please feel free to call at any time.  This New Year of 2008 looks to be an exciting and profitable year as our love for alpacas grows to new heights.
